Old stuff overload!

Cambridge

sunny 22 °C

With a sunnier day in store, I walked into Cambridge. It doesn't take long to be assaulted by the history here – it's almost overwhelming because everywhere you turn there is another ancient building – either a church or a Cambridge college. It also doesn't take long to get assaulted by tour groups blocking the narrow streets or college students wanting to give a special deal today only for a punt ride (10 pounds down from 14 was the going rate). Glad I hit the town early to avoid as much as that as possible – although I still can't get used to nothing opening until 10 at the earliest. That's no good when you wake at 6 or 7 am! King's College was amazing – the architecture, the Tudor motifs, the stained glass, the vaulted ceilings. Note to GCC team members – am averaging 15 – 25k steps per day but boy is my back noticing it!
